Inspirations from the Present, Adorations of the Past

Bonsoir mes amis,

once again I'm excited to post new developments regarding my life.  Lately everything has been coming along very slowly.  I suspect it is because I recently tied the knot with my beloved best friend James.

It has been a wonderful and sometimes dreadful journey the one leading up to marriage, but every sacrifice looking back has been worth this moment, even the mistakes that led to that wonderful day of final connection.  I couldn't be more thankful for what I have in my life now: a handsome and wonderful supportive husband, two beautiful dogs and my little kitty cat that has been graceful enough to stick around for the past 7 years.

Well then with that said and knowing that the person and creatures above also inspire me in my daily life, what inspires me to make jewelry?

For one thing  the beautiful ladies from the past, especially the ones that lived glamorously in the 1920s and the Art Deco Era.  Their poise was subtly sexy, almost teasing, their feminity was the emblem of what coined the word "bombshell" in my opinion. These ladies were indeed the predecessors of Marylin Monroe who finally inspired that very term.

Speaking of delicate and classical beauties, here is by far my favorite:  Cleo de Merode. Isn't she stunning?  She has become my favorite so much she is my little avatar icon for my blog and my upcoming shop opening on Etsy "RomAntique Affair".  Needless to say this very blog is going to be strongly connected to that site.  Cleo de Merode, one of the most celebrated French ballerinas of the 1920s became so famous she inspired artists of the caliber of Gustav Klimt and Tulouse Lautrec.  She also charmed a king as well...maybe even a bit too much...you can find more about her here:

Old and sparkly vintage jewelry, like the one you can find in my collectibles and supply shoppe  RomAntiqueSupplies , obviously a sister shop to my upcoming shoppe.  But of course!  Did you think I would not share these beauties from the past?  You can find a few on the side of this page that are for sale, and many more to come in the next few weeks!

Well the major source of inspiration are some of the best Vintage Assemblage designers in the world!

Well these ladies are truly fantastic!  Their creativity is so inspiring, I can hope to reach their level of composition one day.

Well that's all for tonight folks!  Time for bed.

I hope this little blog helps you understand my likings and who I am a bit without spoiling the mystery of my upcoming creations!

Buona Notte
