Sorry about the plain-ess of the backgroung and whatnot, but I just don't mind it. I kind of like the black, it's less menacing then a plain white...after all canvases just scare me when they are blank. Yes, I have to dirty them up so I don't feel so threatened to mess up when I start...call it a block if you will and I have to remove the block. I'll keep working on a banner and hopefully something cool will come out of it...
So I have been making jewelry, but not much because well...I got a bit bored of doing the vintage assemblage thing, so I decided to do whatever I please, otherwise what's the point?
Art for me has always been fun and spontaneous, so it would be a shame to make it otherwise...creating is also playing and not constantly thinking about the dough...So I'm all over the places...not just geographically because of my job, but also mentally and artistically!
Anyways, I've been playing with polymer clay....there are just too many artists that are doing it and when I browse Etsy and see those pretty beads, I want to try to make them, so here we go, my very first funky batch...the road is long ahead, but hey! I'm proud of some of the turnouts:
I call these Enchanted Logs, cauze they are just too darn purple and crazy, and then they have that wash of Baroque Art gold...love those darn oil based finger-painting pigments, I highly reccomendz!
Look at them crazy deep cracklez! I have to thank Fanciful Devices (aka Marina) for sharing this wonderful gem of a find tut on her awesome blog - no really go, she is hilarious and talented-

Anyways, I've only tried this particular tut, but I will try the other three that are on there and perhaps purchase more if I see any I like...
like I'm obsessed with these crackles, especially the fine blue ones on the flatter beads...so proud *sniffles*
Yep, you've guessed it! Now I can't stop making poly beads!!! It's the closest thing to ceramics I'll get for now...oh did I tell you that the hubby and I are going to take ceramics together in the Fall?
When I mean I'm all over the places, I mean it! I wanna learn to work with glass too, gosh I'm crazy! I'm one of those people that gotta learn everything!
The awesome hubby is taking a metal-smithing class currently with me, we are going on Thursday, we had to skip a couple of weeks b/c we were in Italy visiting my dad...we just chilled mostly so I don't have crazy monumental pictures...but I'll see if I can share a few of the small town we normally go to on the next blog....
Yeah so hubby J loved the class and now all he wants to do is steal my soldering torch and make bangle bracelets ;-) Funny how he wasn't interested and then, ta-dah! Just give your guy some fire and things change...
It's hot in GA...this puppy had a good idea...I might follow the example...
